A vibrant legal services sector
in Singapore
Currently home to around 4,400 practising lawyers and 870 law firms, including nine out of 10 of the world's top law firms, Singapore is a key legal hub for the region, especially Southeast Asia and, increasingly, the Indian subcontinent.
Singapore has also become an important centre for international arbitration. Singapore was ranked the top city in Asia for ICC arbitrations, and one of the five most popular arbitration venues alongside Paris, London, Geneva and Zurich in a 2007 report published by the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICA).
This year, Singapore also saw the launch of Maxwell Chambers, the world's first integrated dispute resolution complex. It houses top international alternative dispute resolution institutions such as the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the ICC International Court of Arbitration A, and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution – a collaboration between the American Arbitration Association and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

Those who choose to work in Singapore find that they have plenty of opportunities and exposure to develop their careers. As a key financial centre for the region, lawyers in Singapore are involved in exciting, large-scale and complex cross-border transactions.
Grab the chance to meet Professor Walter Woon, Attorney-General of Singapore, as he shares the latest developments in the legal profession in Singapore. Three separate sessions will be held in Cambridge, Oxford and London. They are open to law students of all nationalities. In addition, you will be able to meet and network with representatives from the Singapore Legal Service to find out more about becoming a Legal Service Officer or intern at the Singapore Legal Service.
